Hydra App – User Manual

Hydra App is an app that provides access to the latest AI models through the form of chats and image generation tools. The app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and used from a web browser at https://www.aikipi.com/hydra-app/web-client/.

The app operates on a Pay-Per-Use basis where the user buys credits and consumes them when using the different functions. Credits can be acquired through the in-app purchases on the mobile app versions.

Login and user account

Login in the app is required to keep track of the user credits account (you can find out about our privacy policy at https://www.aikipi.com/hydra-app/privacy-policy/). Depending on the platform where the app is used, different login options are available.

Web browser: Email and Password or Google Sign in available.

Android: Email and Password or Google Sign in available.

iOS: Email and Password, Apple Sign In and Google Sign available (On the iOS is also possible to login in the app without a registered account, however this method is not recommended because any credits balance will only be linked to the actual installation of the app. You will not be able to use the credits balance on another device and if you remove the app any purchased credits not spent will be lost.)

Login by Continue with Google or Apple does not require any password definition. Continue with Email gives access to a screen where the user can choose to Sign-up for a new account or Login with already created account.

The email associated with the Google or Apple account can also be used to login with Email and Password. If the initial login was made using the Google or Apple account the user can at a later stage request a password reset by clicking on “Forgot password”under the Continue with Email login screen.

To check the email associated with the current logged in go to the main screen and click on Info -> Account Details. On this pop-up is also available the option to delete the account. Any remaining credits will be lost upon Delete Account.

Main Dashboard

The main screen gives access to different functions inside the Hydra App. Currently there are 3 functions available, Chat, Image Creation and Image Variant. More functions are under development and will be added to this screen on future releases.

In the bottom left side of this screen there is Info button that gives access to:

  • User manual.
  • Credits Usage Rates (overview of the Hydra credits cost for each function).
  • Account Details (associated account information with the option to delete the account).
  • About the App (App version, Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and contact support).
  • Logout user.

On the bottom right side you can find the button Buy Credits. This gives access to the purchase screen where different packages of Hydra credits are for sale, using your mobile provider in-app purchases. Follow the instruction from your store platform to execute a purchase. The purchase screen is only available on Apple iOS and Android devices with App Store / Play Store access.

Chat

The app has the following controls to operate the chat screen:

  1. Choose the current selected model. New questions will be answered using the selected model.
  2. Delete previous chat history. This button clears all the previous messages in the conversation.
It is important to delete the chat history regularly to avoid overspending credits, especially when a new conversation starts and the conversation mode is enabled (see item 3.). This will also help the model keeping its focus on the latest conversation.
  3. Activate/Deactivate conversation history: When the icon shows one balloon the conversation history is disabled and the older messages in the chat are dimmed out to indicate they will not be used as context to answer a new question.
When two balloons are shown the chat is in conversation mode and new questions sent to the model will use all the previous messages listed in the chat as a context. The returned answer from the model will be computed using the last question and all the information exchanged on the previous messages, like a normal chat.
The longer the chat history, more credits are consumed to calculate an answer. It is therefore advisable to clear the chat history when the intention is to start a new conversation or disable the conversation history to perform isolated questions.
Each model has a limited amount of tokens that it can use as context to compute a new answer, with the majority of the current models supporting context windows from 8000 to 256 000 tokens. If this limit is exceeded, the chat will return an error message.
  4. New message box: Insert your new message to instruct your request to the selected AI model.
  5. Send message button: Click on the arrow icon to send the already typed message.
  6. Current credits available. Keep track of your Hydra credits balance usage.

Copy / Paste functionality: Each messages in the chat can be copied to the clipboard by pressing and hold over the message bubble.

Model selection: clicking on the current selected model gives access to the list of the large language models available in the app. This list is frequently updated according to the new models released, so its recommended you keep the app updated to the latest version.

The toggle list presents the models by their organization name and model version name and number. In front of each model is shown a icon with a graphic symbol dollar. These icons rank the models by their price per token on a 1 to 6 level, going from dark green the least expensive to dark red the most expensive.

A detailed list of the cost of each model in the Hydra app can be found here: https://www.aikipi.com/hydra-app/hydra-credits-usage/.

The capability comparison of the models can be subjective depending on the type of question made and different benchmarks can be chosen to rank the LLMs performance. To get more information on the models performance consult the different LLM Leaderboards available online and get familiar with which benchmark is more appropriate for the different use cases.
